Notbranded sells stainless steel and titanium jewelry from Amsterdam into six European markets. Every product now carries native copy and native search terms in six languages, generated from a single Dutch source catalog.

About Notbranded

Notbranded is an Amsterdam fashion jewelry brand founded in 2018. It designs earrings, necklaces, rings, bracelets, charms and piercings in stainless steel and titanium, sold direct to consumer and through its own store in Amsterdam, home to a build-your-own Necklace Bar. The catalog runs to 2,015 products and 5,012 variants across 219 collections.

The challenge

One Dutch catalog had to sell across six European markets, and that meant every product needed native copy and native search terms per market, not a machine translation. Model photography added a separate problem: photo files over 10 MB kept failing to push to the store, blocking listings from going live. Two separate problems, one catalog, both needing a fix that would not slow down what was already live.

How Automated Commerce helps

Automated Commerce runs content and translation across six locales from the Dutch source: NL, plus DE, EN, ES, FR and IT. Media optimisation and cropping were built to Notbranded's brief on a one-week deadline, and Notbranded was the first account to use it, clearing the file-size failures that had blocked model photos from publishing. AI photography workflows handle studio shots, background removal and upscaling for the catalog. Notbranded was also the first account where fields owned by the store flow back into the canonical catalog automatically, a pattern that now defines how channel field ownership works across the platform. SEO field coverage now runs to about 91% per locale.

The result

Six languages, one source catalog:

  • 2,015 products and 5,012 variants localised across NL, DE, EN, ES, FR and IT.
  • Around 91% SEO field coverage per locale.
  • 5,793 AI-generated images across 219 collections.
  • 1,641 listings live on Shopify.

Frequently asked questions

Write each market natively from one source. Notbranded's 2,015 products and 5,012 variants run from a Dutch source catalog into six locales, NL, DE, EN, ES, FR and IT, with native copy and native search terms per market instead of a machine translation.
Notbranded runs at around 91% SEO field coverage per locale, across six languages, from one source catalog. Reaching that by hand for 2,015 products in six markets is precisely the work that never gets finished; automated, it stays at that level as the catalog grows.
Files over 10 MB kept failing to push to Notbranded's store, blocking listings from going live. Media optimisation and cropping, built to their brief in one week, cleared it: 5,793 AI-generated images now flow through, and 1,641 listings are live on Shopify.
One canonical catalog feeds everything. Notbranded's 219 collections carry 5,793 AI-generated images, with AI photography workflows handling studio shots, background removal and upscaling, so every product presents the same way in all six markets it sells in, without per-market rework.
No. Notbranded was the first account where fields owned by the store flow back into the canonical catalog automatically, a pattern that now defines channel field ownership across the platform. The store's own edits are respected instead of overwritten on the next sync.
Machine translation converts words; native localisation writes the market. Notbranded's six locales each get their own copy and their own search terms, so a German shopper searches German terms and finds them. That is what lets one Amsterdam catalog sell across six countries.
